When an earthquake hits Kazbekistan, an operative carrying a highly sensitive laptop computer is lost. Lawrence Decker, a former SEAL and most recently CIA, is the leader of a team from Tom Paoletti's Trouble Shooters Service sent to recover the laptop. Jimmy Nash, also a former CIA operative is his second in command. Jimmy is upset to find that the computer specialist for the mission is Tess Bailey, another former CIA employee - and a recent one night stand. It further complicates things that Tess can only travel to Kazbekistan if she poses as Jimmy's wife because the earthquake and political situation makes Kazbekistan dangerous for women. Soon after arriving in the country, Decker meets Sophia Ghaffari, a woman who had been held hostage by a powerful warlord, and had only recently escaped. Sophia may be the key to finding what they came for.
