Laura Kinsale

Laura Kinsale won the 1991 RITA® for Best Romance of 1990. She is considered one of the more literary-styled of romance writers, and her classic For My Lady's Heart is heralded as transcending the romance genre (though difficult for some to read due to its use of Middle English).
Kinsale is noted for her complex writing style and flawed characters. She breaks the traditional heroic molds frequently. Other key features of Kinsale's books include animal "mascots" threading through each book.
