Kathleen Eagle's first book, published by Silhouette in 1984, also won the Golden Heart. She is a bestselling author who has made both the USA Today list and the New York Times extended bestseller list. She served as an advisor to the Romance Writers of America Board of Directors for 1995-96.
Her husband, a member of Lakota Sioux tribe, has served as inspiration for many of the Native American romances she's written -- stories which also highlight issued facing the Native American population.
She won the 1993 RITA® in the Single Title Contemporary category for her novel This Time Forever. Her novel Ride A Painted Pony was nominated for a 2007 RITA in the Best Contemporary Single Title category.
