"Get your hands off me," she cried, pulling away. Her flashlight beam played eerily across Patrick's strong features, making him look threatening as he loomed over her at the cliff's edge. "I demand to know what's going on, " he growled, his voice menacing. "I want to know what you're up to. " He gripped her arm even harder. Caroline instinctively stepped back from him. Suddenly she felt the ground give way beneath her. The scream died on her lips as she began to slide down the cliff....
