Marriage-Of-Convenience

A marriage-of-convenience is entered into when both parties require something that only marriage can provide. This is a popular plot device in historical romances. It has been suggested that contemporary romances have a difficult time pulling off plausible marriage-of-convenience plots, but it can be done.
