This book is set six years after Dancing With Clara, and the heroine, Harriet has been married and widowed with a child. She stills loves the Duke of Tenby, though at their last meeting, he offered to make her his mistress. When they meet again, the attraction is still strong, but Harriet remains an appropriate choice as a future duchess.
