Jack Endicott, returned from the Penisular Wars, decides to honor his father's dying wish -- to find the sister who disappeared after a carriage accident -- in a most unusual way. Jack will open a gaming parlor in London, hoping to find his sister by hiring beautiful women to deal cards. He encounters Allison Silver, who is in London trying to deliver a precocious charge to his grandparents -- who aren't home. Jack, oddly, is the second choice for Allison.
