Designed and illustrated by romance author Diana Laurence, Diana's Deck Romance Fortune Telling Cards are a Tarot-style deck of trading cards.
The deck of 48 cards features all the lead characters from Laurence's works Soulful Sex: Erotic Tales of Fantasy and Romance, Volumes I & II, Soulful Sex Volume III, Souls' Embrace, Gift of Flesh, "Artemis in Love," and "Playacting." Each card represents an archetypal concept of romance, e.g., wishes, seduction, or danger. The accompanying instruction card gives simple rules for using the cards to tell your romance fortune.
Laurence is a student of psychologist Carl Jung, who taught the significance of archetypes and the imagination for personal growth and self-understanding. Laurence designed the cards with this in mind, using 47 different themes drawn from her stories. Each card features the name, theme and portrait of the character, a brief bio, and a quote from the work that features that character. While designed for adults with mature themes, the cards are tasteful in content. They are standard trading card size (3.5" x 2.5"), printed in full color on laminated card stock.
