Mary Michael finally gets a good assignment as a newspaper reporter travelling with several others on a cross country train. Unfortunately, the train is robbed and she is taken as a hostage by Ethan Stone, a man who looks vaguely familiar to her, and who tells the rest of the gang that she is his wife! Ethan and Michael are forced to live as husband and wife in a saloon in a small mining town, while, unbeknownst to Michael, Ethan tries to find the evidence to bring the gang to justice.
