RNA Romance Prize
The Romantic Novelists' Association (RNA) in the UK awards an annual prize for category romances. The first award was made in April 2003 at the RNA Awards Lunch at the Savoy Hotel, London. The winner received a prize money of of £1,000 and also an inscribed Betty Neels Rose Bowl to hold for one year, both donated by Mills & Boon.
A panel of readers will each read books between November and January. They will rank the titles in order of preference, based on such criteria as most enjoyable, least able to put down, good plot and characters, would buy another book by that author. A shortlist of the favourite books will then be read by the final judges, who will be professional editors and agents, to select the outright winner.
