Book Description

Sign of the Bloodletters, 2009

Sign of the Bloodletters is a comic book written by Diana Laurence and illustrated by CC Rogers. The story is a spin-off of Laurence's popular vampire romance novel ''Bloodchained'', published in 2007.

Sign of the Bloodletters chronicles one evening at the Swife's Inn. Two strangers visit Artur Swife and his daughter Nevia, sharing their disparate knowledge of the Bloodletters, the legendary blood-drinking race of immortals. Nevia is sympathetic towards those morally ambiguous beings called Roicans, but that may be due to the influence of the charming Jonas Tammany.

The comic book is 12 full color pages. In addition to the paperback version offered for sale, Living Beyond Reality Press published the comic book free online on the Bloodchained website.

The Roicans

Roicans are a completely new twist on vampires. Blood sustains them, but only special blood. They are indestructible and have only one weakness: their dependence on their mates. There are as many good, moral Roicans as there are evil, depraved ones...but you can't always tell which is which. They have select supernatural powers, including the ability to heal themselves and others, and the ability to control the will of mortals and weaker Roicans. Theirs is a rich and ancient culture, shrouded in secret, with very surprising origins.
