Book Description

Zack Benedict is a renowned film star and director who has survived through sheer determination and will, without help from the outside. He has a rather hard exterior and personality, as a result. Julie Mathison grew up in foster homes and on the streets for several years until the Mathison family adopted her and helped her turn her life around for the better. Now, she gives back to the community who changed her life by teaching children with warmth and hospitality, but with a fierceness to help her students strive to do better.

When Zack ends up in jail wrongfully accused of murder, he languishes there for five years, before making a daring escape. In his attempt to escape, he ends up crossing paths with Julie and takes her hostage. They end up driving to a mountain hideaway, where Zack stays, finally free of something society wrongfully accuses him of. Julie is trapped with Zack, but refuses to be scared or obedient. Her life has been shattered by this turn of events, but as they spend more time together, Zack's innocence in the crime becomes more believable to Julie, and their relationship will become more intense than they ever thought possible in Judith McNaught's wonderful romance novel.
