Biography

After earning her law degree, Doreen Owens Malek taught and practiced law before turning to fiction writing. She won the 1986 Golden Medallion in the Traditional Category. Her work includes Contemporary, Historical, and Young Adult romance. Malek contributed the essays "Mad, Bad, and Dangerous to Know: The Hero as Challenge" and "Loved I Not Honor More: The Virginal Heroine in Romance" to Dangerous Men And Adventurous Women: Romance Writers on the Appeal of the Romance. She also published under the name Faye Morgan.

Doreen Owens Malek has published over forty books in a career that has spanned over twenty years. Her romance credits include twenty three titles for the Silhouette Romance imprint, two for Harlequin, three for Leisure books, two for Zebra, two for Warner Books, one for Jove and two for HarperCollins. In the young adult market she published four titles with Silhouette's First Love division and her fledging novel Gypsy Autumn with Ace/Tempo.
