Talk:Edita Petrick
Edita Petrick is a registered professional engineer. She lives in Richmond Hill, Ontario, with a houseful of young adults, all related to her biologically and otherwise, and two Wheaten Terriers, named Sydney and Jasper. In 2000, after leaving a large utility company and the corporate rat-race, she turned her energy to professional writing. One way or another, writing had always been a part of her life. Between 2000 and 2005, she published a number of literary short stories, then focused on novel-length fiction. Her interest in science fiction and fantasy produced several novels that served her as training ground for what she subsequently came to write -- romance, mystery, suspense and thrillers.
She likes strong female characters with irreverent sense of humor, challenged by hardships and adversity that attacks not just on the emotional but also on the professional level. Her characters are driven to the proverbial brink where there's nothing left but to give up - or laugh at the adversity, then start to fight back for their lives. She constructs very complex and clever plots with scientific or supernatural twists. It is an enduring legacy of her love of science fiction and fantasy.
