About the Book

Marta Zinsser moves her daughter from Manhattan to Seattle to be near Marta's sick mother. Though Marta has made her daughter, conceived via sperm donation, the center of her life, her insecurities keep her from being a "normal" parent. Even as she navigates the world of chaperoning school events and alpha moms, Marta finds her independence and insecurities challenged by the billionaire she meets.

Porter's story focuses on the difficulties of fitting in and maintaining control when life becomes overwhelming.
