In a way, Dorrie was enjoying her summer in British Columbia, where she was spending a holiday with her sister Julia. There was no doubt about it - Canada was a wonderful country, with its vast areas of prairie, forest, lake and mountain, and its bighearted people - though Dorrie did wish sometimes that Julia wouldn't so obviously keep trying to marry her off to one of them!
