Katie is a fan of Dragon Fire, a metal band. And, like most fans, she gets a little overzealous from time to time. When she sees another poster attacking the group on their message board, she becomes irate. Michael doesn’t see what the obsession with the message board is — or why his band mates are always on it. The first post he actually reads is by a poster that calls him or herself ‘FiredUp’. He signs on as a guest and tells both of the posters to grow up. When he reads the response to his post, he decides to register for the message board.
A quick friendship is formed between Michael’s anonymous message board persona and FiredUp — Katie. When the opportunity presents itself for the two to finally meet in person, Michael can’t help jumping on it. After a wonderful night filled with surprises and some tension, Katie ends up going on tour with the band.
But soon, the question arises...Is she the band's friend, Michael’s girlfriend, or just another groupie?
