Both characters are likeable, but together there is an added dimension to them, which has the reader rooting for them. Ms. Moore tells this holiday story in the first person, through the eyes of our heroine Samantha. Though generally I don’t enjoy reading first POV stories, Ms. Moore is able to convey the heroine’s experiences directly to the reader, making this a more insightful look at what she’s feeling as the story unfolds. And by using this writing device, we’re more intimately connected with the heroine. Ryan sounds utterly delicious; he’s eye candy, resourceful, hardworking and mindful of pleasing Samantha in and out of bed. Their first intimate scene together is very risqué and hot enough to melt butter. Samantha is sassy, quick witted and at times blasé in her outlook on life and her sensual nature, while our hero is very sensual and almost caveman-like, a Neanderthal at times in his sexual demands. Both Ryan and Samantha are very sensual individuals whose nature is displayed throughout this story. With a few surprises for this couple, a fast paced plot and some rather frank discussions between them, the adventure ensues told in Ms. Moore’s breezy storytelling style.
