Born in Somerville, Massachusetts, Lisa Mondello didn't start out writing novels. She attended University of Massachusetts at Lowell for Sound Recording Engineering and managed the Boston Rock band called Childhood for 4 years, recording multiple EPs and winning band competitions. In 1987 Childhood won the WBCN Rock-n-Roll rumble and were interviewed by M-TVs Julie Brown. Soon after the band opened for The Fixx at Boston's legendary club The Channel, Lisa left Childhood and began writing. She published her first novel in 1998 and continued on, selling 4 books in her Texas Hearts series to Avalon Books. Lisa's 14th published novel, a Romantic Suspense called Material Witness was published June 2012 and was given a starred review from Kirkus Reviews and was named one of Kirkus Reviews Best Indie Books of 2012.

For 3 years, Lisa worked in elementary education working in grades one and two writing classes and discovered that even at that early age, she could identify who was a pantser, a puzzler, a plotter, or a linear writer. She has developed a workshop called "Understanding Your Writing Profile" that helps writers get organized so they can write more efficiently.

Lisa Mondello is a New York Times and USA Today Bestselling author. She is currently completing her next manuscript and is working on her first screenplay entitled [Flirting with Insanity].
