John Fitzwilliam and Addie Winstead were engaged to each other long before they were aware of the fact. Their fathers wanted them to marry. Fitz is a prize fighter, and Addie, who earns money for her household by writing a secret boxing column, has long been in love with him -- even when she has to write about her beloved's losses.
