Roberta Gellis

Born on September 27, 1927, in Brooklyn, New York City, Roberta Gellis was the noted author of The Roselynde Chronicles. She had two master's degrees - one in Biochemistry and one in Medieval Literature.
She received her
- B.S. in Chemistry from Hunter College of the City University of New York in 1947 and a M.S. in Biochemistry from Brooklyn Polytechnic University in 1952. She worked both as a freelance scientific copy editor and as a research chemist for Foster D. Snell for many years, where she and her inventing partner developed aerosolized shaving foam and pink hair dye, among other creations, before she entered a second career as a best-selling author.[1]
Gellis was one of the most successful writers of historical fiction of the last few decades, having published about 25 meticulously researched historical novels since 1964. She also wrote romantic suspense (historical and contemporary), science fiction under the pseudonym Max Daniels, and fantasy in Greek and Celtic settings.
Gellis died on May 6, 2016.
