Harley Jane Miller wanted to take a vacation from her life as the goody-goody Princess of Pop, so she sneaks out of the hotel and away from her ultra-controlling manager. Duncan Lang working for the family-owned detective agency the manager hires, find her almost immediately. But he sees that "Jane" has now become "Harley" -- she has bought an electric guitar, dresses in black and sexy styles and has begun to write some music. When they talk she asks for just a few days more of freedom, and he agrees to postpone delivering her to her manager if he can convince his father that he has not, once again, messed up the case. The book includes a diamond heist, the French mob, as well as money laundering. It is a good thing that both Harley and Duncan learn something about themselves, and decide that being together is a good thing too.
