User talk:Carolyn Gregg
Hi Carolyn -- I wanted to welcome you to the wiki and thank you for your contributions. We're always happy when authors come in and add information. I do hope you'll take some time to add biographical information and categories to your page (if you're not familiar with categories, we have great resources here: Help:Contents -- categories are terrific ways to make your pages visible to readers).
I also noticed that you added a large graphic to your author page -- while graphics are fine (I wish I were better about using them), this one is a little too large. While I understand that authors use the wiki as part of their promotional effort, we are trying to build a history of romance fiction as well. In both cases, people who search on authors and information are likely to bypass pages that don't appear to offer anything substantial. Since all they'll see is a large image with very little "meat", they're going to move past this page. We don't want to compete with your regular website/MySpace profile, and, based on our stats, pages with good content get better, longer reads.--Romancewiki 20:10, 27 December 2007 (PST)
