John Fitzwilliam and Addie Winstead were engaged to each other long before they were aware of the fact. Their fathers wanted them to marry. Fitz is a prize fighter, and Addie, who earns money for her household by writing a secret boxing column, has long been in love with him -- even when she has to write about her beloved's losses. Fitz, however, prefers his single life and mistresses and fun. He wants Addie to find someone else and release him from the engagement. One day, Fitz wakes from a serious blow to the head and realizes Addie is the woman for him. The question is: how will he feel when the pain wears off?
