Penny Jordan is a pen name of Penelope Jones Halsall. She started to use that name in 1981 when Mills & Boon accepted her first book, Falcon's Prey. She has since written over 170 category romances for Mills & Boon.

Penny Jordan's first contemporary romance, Love's Choices, was published by Mills & Boon in 1984. Later she wrote for the Worldwide and Mira imprint.

In 2008 the UK-based Avon imprint of HarperCollins released Silk, the first part of a trilogy featuring a Cheshire family and spanning the years from 1929 to 2002. Almost 70 million copies of her novels have been sold worldwide.

Penny Jordan was born on November 24, 1946. She passed away on December 31, 2011.
