Harley Jane Miller just wanted to take a vacation from her life as Princess of Pop, so she sneaks out of the hotel and away from her ultra-controlling manager. Duncan Lang works for the family-owned detective agency hired to find her, which he does almost immediately. But he sees that "Jane" has now become "Harley" and when they talk she asks for just a few days more of freedom. She has bought an electric guitar and has begun to write some music and he agrees to postpone turning over to the manager if he can convince his father that he has not, once again, messed up the case. The book includes a diamond heist, the French mob, as well as money laundering. It is a good thing that both Harley and Duncan learn something about themselves, and decide that being together is a good thing too.
