Her visit has gone well and Delaney Poole decides she really wants to set up her medical practice in the small town of Harp Cove, Maine, when she gets out of med school. The night before she heads back to school, however, Delaney gets drunk and sleeps with Jack, a very attractive man she has seen around town. Of course, nine months later Emily is born. When she returns to Harp Cove a year later, Delaney is shocked to run into Jack immediately and to find out that he is her landlord.
