Lansdowne (b. 1944) attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York and then spent several years touring the country as an actress and puppeteer before earning a bachelor's degree in English at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. She became a full-time writer in 1992. Her first novel, Amelia's Intrigue, was published in 1995 in the Zebra Regency Romance imprint.
