Charlene Raddon was born in Colorado but grew up south of Los Angeles where she graduated high school, worked as a stenographer, and attended El Camino Jr. College as an art major. Her favorite activities were painting, drawing, and traveling. She studied botany and loved to find and identify the native flowers wherever she went. In 1971 she moved to Utah where she now lives with her husband and a very demanding, scardy-cat cat. She and her husband do a lot of camping, hunting and fishing, and she has become well acquainted with the flora and fauna of much of the western United States. In 1980 her love of the Old West drove her to take up writing. Her first romance novel, Tender Touch, won the Colorado Gold Writing Contest for historicals in 1990, and became a Golden Heart Finalist in 1991. About eighteen months later she signed a three book contract with Kensington Books. Five western historical romance novels were published under her name, plus one under a pseudonym. One of her books,Forever Mine received a Romantic Times Reviewer's Choice Award Nomination. Her most recent completed manuscript won first place as a historical in last year's Romance Through The Ages Contest. Today, Charlene is working on a new novel. When she isn't writing, she does digital scrapbooking, researches her genealogy, gardens, and dyes Ukrainian style eggs. She has been a member of Romance Writers of America for twenty years, and a member of the Wasatch Mountain Fiction Writers for twenty-five years, serving multiple terms as president in the latter group. and general discussion about the author - honors, influences, special characteristics.
